Santosha
contentment serenity inner strength peace
A Sanskrit word - saṃtoṣa, santōṣḥ - for contentment, serenity. It is also an ethical concept in Indian philosophy. Santosha means being content with what is, accepting the now, so we can make good everyday choices, yet stay connected to the spiritual aspect of ourselves. Santosha is not complacency but a profound sense of peace and gratitude regardless to the environment, pleasure or pain, failure or success.
"When we can accept things as they are now, but recognise that they will change, and accept that too, we will know peace."
Rose Elliot
“There is no end of craving.
Hence contentment alone is the best way to happiness. Therefore, acquire contentment.”
